The Spot
Glai Baan builds its menu around Thai street food and snacks meant for sharing rather than individual plates. The lineup includes somtum (papaya salad) and larb moo among the small plates, moo ping pork skewers from the Silom Road section, soups like kao soi made with organic chicken curry broth, and noodle and rice dishes ranging from padthai and panang curry to mackerel fried rice made with Maine farm smoked mackerel. The kitchen sources produce and meat locally when possible and cooks without MSG.

Regulars describe a cozy, intimate room that draws a following, with the owner's presence on the floor frequently cited as part of the experience alongside consistent food and service.

Glai Baan has been named to the Michelin Guide's 2026 selection and has been a James Beard Foundation semifinalist twice — for Best Chef: Southwest in 2024 and for Outstanding Wine Program in 2023. Phoenix New Times also named it a best-of pick in its 2025 city guide.
