Dumpling Bites opened on Noriega Street in San Francisco's Sunset District in 2023, built around handcrafted Shanghai-style soup dumplings. Every dumpling is folded by hand on site, with no frozen fillings, and the menu runs through steamed and pan-fried dumplings, hot dishes, noodle soups, and sides. The xiao long bao are golf ball–sized and built to burst with broth; boiled pork and chive dumplings lean heavy on the chives and come out ultra-tender, while the Shanghai-style pan-fried pork buns are known for crisp, crackling bottoms.
It's a neighborhood counter-service operation, but the dining room has real scale to it — a two-story space roomy enough to fit a crowd comfortably, making it an easy walk-in for family dinners or weekend lunches. The rest of the menu covers dry-fried chicken wings, scallion chicken, sizzling black pepper beef, pot stickers, and wonton noodle soup.
