Mona Lisa Italian Foods has run on India Street in Little Italy since 1956, operated across three generations by the same family. The building splits into two distinct operations: a sit-down restaurant serving family-style Italian cooking with house-made sauces in an old-world dining room, and a deli counter turning out made-to-order sandwiches alongside imported and domestic meats and cheeses, house-made sausage, fresh pasta, pizza dough, olive oils, and other Italian grocery staples.
The deli side has built a following on its sandwiches over the decades, with regulars returning for the same subs for years. On the restaurant side, garlic bread, lasagna, antipasti, and cannoli come up often in reviewer accounts, alongside salads dressed in a house Italian dressing.
