The Spot
Duke's La Jolla takes its name from Duke Kahanamoku, the native Hawaiian Olympic swimmer and water polo medalist regarded as the father of modern surfing. Set above La Jolla Cove, the restaurant serves contemporary interpretations of traditional island plates, framed around the beach lifestyles of Hawaii and Southern California.

The space splits into two experiences: the Barefoot Bar, a casual drop-in scene with tropical cocktails and island favorites, and the Dining Room, which offers Hawaiian-style dining with fresh fish and steak. Hula Pie rounds out the dessert side as a recurring point of interest.

Regulars point to the rooftop views, strong happy hour drinks, and attentive service as reasons the place keeps its following, alongside a Hawaiian-themed atmosphere that runs through both rooms.
