The Spot
Butcher Burger got its start in spring 2014 as a seasonal spot on the Maine coast, before expanding into a year-round location in the ski town of Bethel. The Old Port restaurant on Union Street marks a return to that original coastal territory.

The house patty is a beef-and-bacon blend, cooked through and built into combinations like the Bacon Bacon (bacon jam, cheddar) or the Butcher (pulled pork, bacon, fried egg), all finished with the restaurant's signature block sauce. Maine lobster is sourced from local boats and hand-picked in house, showing up in the Maine Lobster Roll, a hot-buttered version, the Shack Roll with Jonah crab, and the Surf & Turf Burger. Fries are Maine potatoes, triple-cooked, served with that same block sauce. The rest of the menu runs to crispy chicken sandwiches, a chicken and waffle plate, fish tacos, and a lobster grilled cheese.

The beer list draws on Maine breweries, and the restaurant composts its food waste and donates organic material locally. Seating in the Old Port location is tight, and regulars have learned to treat the parking as part of the deal.
