The Spot
Dim Sum Garden traces its soup dumplings back to a recipe chef Shizhou Da carried from China, where she is the fifth generation of the family credited with creating the original Xiao Long Bao. She spent five years running restaurants in North Jersey and New York before opening in Philadelphia's Chinatown in 2013 with her daughter Sally, eventually settling at 1024 Race Street.

The menu runs on Shanghai-style dim sum, with pork and shrimp soup dumplings drawing the most attention from regulars, alongside steamed buns and other traditional plates.

Dim Sum Garden has been named to Eater's Essential 38 list for Philadelphia.
