Our Take

Workshop Kitchen & Bar has held a spot on Michelin's Palm Springs list for five straight years running, 2022 through 2026. That kind of streak doesn't happen by accident or by coasting on a design budget. It happens when a kitchen keeps its footing year after year, through menu changes and staff turnover, and still cooks at a level worth flagging every single cycle.

The Uptown Design District setting gets attention for its architecture, but the restaurant's real case is duller and better: American cooking that holds up on repeat visits, not a one-time spectacle built for an opening year. A national list took notice too, which lines up with what the sustained Michelin presence already argues.

Five consecutive years of inclusion is the rare kind of recognition that can't be talked into existence. It has to be earned again each cycle. Workshop keeps earning it, which is the whole case for going.

This isn't a place chasing a moment. It's a place that already survived one and kept cooking.

The Spot
Workshop Kitchen & Bar occupies a 1920s building in Old Las Palmas, with dining rooms that look out toward the surrounding mountains. A wood-fired oven runs through both the dinner and brunch menus, turning out nightly sourdough pizza, a half avocado baked and filled with goat cheese, and a wood-fired calzone at brunch.

Dinner moves through globally-minded small plates — yellowtail crudo, duck leg confit salad, lamb kefta with zhoug — into larger plates like koji-marinated grilled swordfish, ricotta gnocchi, a wood-grilled bone-in pork chop, and an Angus prime flat iron finished with wood-fired oyster mushrooms. The green chile cheeseburger appears on both the dinner and brunch menus and has built a following among regulars. Brunch also includes blue crab eggs benny, a lobster burrito, and a reuben made with housemade pastrami.

Workshop has been named to the Michelin Guide's Palm Springs selection every year from 2022 through 2026, and was included on Time Out Palm Springs's 2026 best-of list.
