Our Take

The courtyard earns every photograph — wisteria, fountain, a jazz trio working the brunch crowd. Among Quarter settings it has few rivals.

Brunch itself is a buffet, and it tastes like one: gumbo and omelets holding at temperature in a city where breakfast is cooked to order three blocks away in any direction. No critic, guide, or award has ever seen it differently. The setting deserves a drink and a look. The chafing dishes don't deserve the morning.

The Spot
The Court of Two Sisters sits behind its namesake gates on Royal Street, its courtyard — string lights, a fountain, a well, and a large central tree — serving as a backdrop for weddings and events across the Quarter as much as for meals.

The daily brunch buffet is the centerpiece: made-to-order omelets, gumbo, shrimp étouffée, and seasonal specialties, served under a live jazz trio playing in the courtyard. Turtle soup, eggs benedict, bananas foster, prime rib, and bread pudding are the recurring dishes. In the evening, the format shifts to an à la carte menu of Creole and Cajun cooking built around local seafood.
