The Spot
Mr. B's Bistro has held down 201 Royal Street in the French Quarter serving Creole cooking for decades. The menu centers on a set of dishes that have stuck around long enough to become the restaurant's identity: bbq shrimp, duck spring rolls, crab cakes, redfish, and a pork chop, with profiteroles and pecan pie closing things out.

The bbq shrimp in particular has developed a following, frequently singled out by diners as the dish to order.

Mr. B's Bistro was a finalist for the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Service award in 1994, and NOLA.com's Where NOLA Eats named it among the city's best restaurants in 2025.
