La Cocinita serves Venezuelan-rooted street food in Uptown New Orleans, with arepas as the anchor of the menu. The Reina Pepiada comes stuffed with a Venezuelan-style avocado chicken salad, pickled tomatoes, onions, and queso fresco, while El Pabellon — built on brisket, sweet plantains, black beans, and cremita — is billed on the menu as Venezuela's national dish. La Llanera and La Sifrina round out the arepa lineup with variations on carne asada and grilled chicken.
Beyond arepas, the menu runs through empanadas in seven varieties (chicken, pork, brisket, cheese, tofu sofrito, mushroom and potato, black bean), tacos including carne asada and shrimp sofrito, and a build-your-own bowl format with a choice of bases, proteins, sauces, and extras.
The restaurant is one of several La Cocinita locations that includes a food truck and restaurant in the Chicago area alongside its New Orleans truck and this Uptown spot. Where Y'at has included the restaurant in its New Orleans dining coverage.
