Our Take

Puckett's figured out that if you put live music in a room, people will forgive food they'd send back anywhere else. The fried chicken is mediocre. The BBQ is worse. The biscuits are fine in the way that biscuits at a downtown tourist restaurant are fine — they exist, they're warm, they're not the point.

The music is real — actual Nashville songwriters, actual performances. But you're in Nashville. Real music is everywhere here, in rooms that aren't asking you to eat this to hear it.

Eat somewhere real. You'll find a show wherever you land.

The Spot
Puckett's started as a small community grocery store and gathering spot in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee, before growing into a multi-location restaurant with outposts across Tennessee and Alabama. The Nashville location sits in the Arts District, carrying forward that same small-town Southern hospitality.

The menu leans on Southern staples — biscuits and gravy with country ham, meat-and-three plates, and barbecue are the dishes regulars point to first.

Every Puckett's location, including Nashville, keeps a live music calendar. The stage has hosted acts like Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson, and Maddie & Tae before they had recording contracts.

Among regulars, breakfast tends to get consistent praise, while opinions on the barbecue run more mixed — the kind of place where atmosphere and service do a lot of the heavy lifting.
