The Spot
Franklin Mercantile Deli — known locally as "the Merc" — has been owned and operated by Graeme and Corrie Asch since 1999, tucked just off the corner of Fourth Avenue North and Main Street in downtown Franklin. The menu leans on Southern breakfast favorites alongside specialty sandwiches, a fresh salad bar, fruit tea, coffee, and homemade desserts.

The room breaks from typical deli setups: wingback chairs, a well-loved sofa, and homestyle wooden tables fill the space, with local artists' and photographers' work covering the walls. It's a lived-in, residential feel that draws downtown regulars and visitors passing through alike.

Regulars point to fresh, made-to-order food, generous portions, and quick, friendly service as reasons the Merc has become a go-to stop for both locals and out-of-towners.
