Bastion splits into two distinct spaces under one roof in Wedgewood-Houston. The Big Bar side is open to anyone — cocktails, nachos, no reservation needed. Past it sits a 24-seat restaurant requiring reservations, where chef Josh Habiger runs the kitchen. The restaurant is part of the Strategic Hospitality group.
Reviewers point to a tasting menu format, with dishes like lamb and kumquat drawing repeat mentions, alongside a sommelier program that regularly comes up as a highlight.
Michelin awarded Bastion one star in 2025. That same year, the James Beard Foundation named it a semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur, adding to a run of recognition for Habiger that includes a Best Chef Southeast finalist nod in 2023 and Best Chef semifinalist selections in 2020, 2019, and 2018, plus a Best New Restaurant semifinalist nod in 2017. Bastion has also landed on Eater's Essential 38 and StarChefs' 2026 Rising Stars list for Nashville.
