Tufano's Vernon Park Tap has operated out of the same Little Italy building since Joseph DiBuono and his wife Teresa Tufano established it in 1930. Sam "the DA" DiBuono took over in 1971 alongside his mother, and Joe DiBuono has run the restaurant since 1980, with family help through the decades — his mother, aunt, great-aunt, and grandmother among them, with Teresa working into her 90s. Today Joe runs it with his daughter Darci and sister JoAnn.
