The Duck Inn sits inside a pre-Prohibition-era tavern building at Loomis Street and the Chicago River, on the border of Bridgeport and Pilsen. Chef Patron Kevin Hickey and Partner/Beverage Director Brandon Phillips run the gastro-tavern and dining room, which keeps the space's retro, lived-in design intact. A wood-fired oven in the backyard adds pizzas to the mix alongside the main dining room menu.
The Signature Rotisserie Duck anchors the menu and can be reserved ahead. Reviewers regularly single out the duck wings, crispy skin, baby kale salad, octopus, fried cheese curds, and a filet, along with Bloody Marys and the cocktail program Phillips oversees.
The Duck Inn has been named a James Beard Foundation Outstanding Restaurant semifinalist in 2024 and has held a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
