Shaw's Crab House has held its spot in River North since 1984, sourcing daily seafood flown in from fishermen and farmers on both coasts and serving it through simple preparations meant to let that sourcing carry the plate.
The space is set in a 1940s-style design split into two distinct rooms: the Oyster Bar, casual and lively with raw bar seating, and the Main Dining Room, a more traditional white-tablecloth setup. Regulars tend to gravitate back toward one side or the other, with generous portions and high-end plating a running theme in both.
