Gunny's occupies a Lincoln Park corner with some history behind the bar top — the space previously operated as the Racine Plumbing Bar & Grill, a name tied to a family plumbing business founded in 1881, before it became a neighborhood bar in 1996. New owners have since reworked it into Gunny's, an all-day pub serving coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails alongside lunch and dinner across two distinct rooms: a casual front bar and a quieter back dining room with a skylight and plants.
The food menu draws from the Midwest with supper-club influences and seasonal produce, running from smash burgers and poutine to wild game like duck and pheasant. Deviled eggs come in three versions — classic, Chicago-style, and lobster.
The cocktail program centers on classics done well, with thoughtful originals and a range of no- and low-ABV options mixed in.
