NoMI sits on the seventh floor of the Park Hyatt Chicago, at the corner of Michigan and Chicago Avenues in Streeterville, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Water Tower and Lake Michigan below. The name is a play on North Michigan Avenue, and the space is split into a kitchen, a lounge, and a garden.
Executive Chef Terence Zubieta leads the kitchen through a seasonal menu built on modern interpretations of midwestern classics, using local ingredients and running alongside a cocktail program and an extensive wine selection.
Michelin awarded NoMI one star in 2011. The restaurant has also drawn James Beard Foundation recognition over the years, including Best Chef finalist nods in 2004 and 2005, a Best Chef semifinalist nod in 2009, and a semifinalist nod for Outstanding Wine Program in 2010.
The same seventh-floor room doubles as private event space, with the lake views available for full-service functions.
