The Spot
Mia Francesca opened on Clark Street in 1992, the first restaurant under owner and co-founder Scott Harris. It's since become the flagship of a much larger Francesca's family, with sister locations spread across Chicago and into the suburbs — Lincolnwood, Northbrook, Barrington, Naperville, and beyond all carry some version of the name.

The room has a reputation for flavorful pasta and generous portions, served in a warm, lively atmosphere that regulars keep coming back to. Some dishes are prepped ahead to keep pace with a dining room that stays busy, and service can vary night to night, though diners consistently describe the food and setting as worth the visit.

More than three decades in, the original Lake View East location remains a neighborhood fixture, still operating under the same name that's expanded across the region.
