Kitchen Karaoke is a takeout window and street-side stage on West Hubbard Street, built around the pairing of Korean-inspired snack food and open-air karaoke. Chef Eddie Park, who grew up cooking at home with his grandmother and parents and worked his way through Chicagoland restaurant kitchens without formal training, leads the menu.
The food is snack-driven and made to eat between songs: a spiraled, fried Potato Tornado, Spam Musubi, and a Korean-style corn dog served with cinnamon sugar or ketchup and honey mustard. Chicken Katsu Tenders and grilled cheese on D'Amato's sourdough with kimchi butter round things out, including The Korean Meltdown — loaded with bulgogi, american, and provolone — which has become a known order among regulars.
