The Spot
Gemini opened on North Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park in 2009 under owner Ryan O'Donnell. The 92-seat space is anchored by a U-shaped bar designed by 555 International, built to function less like a typical bar and more like a communal living room for the neighborhood.

The Southern Fried Chicken — a half chicken with mashed potatoes, a biscuit, and housemade hot sauce — has remained a fixture of the menu. The calendar also rotates through recurring themes like BBQ Mondays, Fried Chicken Sunday, and a dedicated BBQ season. A pergola-topped sidewalk patio opens up in warmer months and welcomes dogs alongside their owners.

Bartender Pauly Graves helped shape Gemini's bar program and hospitality culture when the restaurant opened, and though he no longer works behind the bar full-time, he still turns up there on occasion. Gemini operates under Ballyhoo Hospitality and has built a local reputation as a dependable choice for special occasions, with regulars returning for both its weekly specials and its dinner menu.
