The Spot
Salt Traders Coastal Cooking takes its cue from coastal travel and meals eaten near the water, translating that into a menu built on direct sourcing from fishermen, mongers, and farms. The kitchen doesn't lean only toward the sea — Texas turf dishes get equal billing alongside the surf.

The core menu runs from oysters on the half shell and a rotating crudo to shrimp and grits, a tuna poke bowl, grilled tuna steak, clam chowder, ceviche, flat-top fish tacos, and the Jack Stack Burger for the land-based side of things. Chalkboard specials change nightly and differ between locations, built around whatever came in fresh that day.

The Zilker restaurant sits alongside a second location in Round Rock, and the group runs in the same family as Jack Allen's Kitchen. Regulars keep coming back for the seafood quality and consistent service, even as individual dishes can vary night to night.
