The Spot
El Chilito started as a fast-casual spin-off of El Chile, the contemporary Tex-Mex restaurant a few blocks away on Manor Rd, carrying over many of the same flavors in a more laid-back, counter-service setting. It's part of the El Chile Group.

Everything is made from scratch daily, using El Milagro tortillas and Texas-raised beef, alongside Tex-Mex and interior Mexican dishes. Tacos and the al pastor burrito have built a following among regulars. A full espresso bar runs on beans from Austin's own Medici Coffee Roasters.

The Manor Rd location's patio — hand-built planters, brightly colored picnic tables, umbrellas, and string lights left up year-round — gives the East Austin original its neighborhood feel. A second location on Manchaca Rd has since brought the concept to South Austin.
