Our Take

Antico is a Neapolitan pizza built on restraint: a handful of pies, cooked hot and fast, blistered and loose in the center the way the style demands. There's no menu sprawl to hide behind — the dough, the char, the tomato have to carry the whole meal, and they do. The room leans into the tradition too, communal and unfussy, built for eating pizza quickly and well rather than lingering over it.

The expansion downtown, patio facing Mercedes-Benz Stadium included, is a bet that the standard travels. Given what's coming out of the original ovens, that bet looks safe. Consistency is the actual achievement here — not one great pizza but the same great pizza, repeatedly, which is harder than it sounds and rarer than it should be.

The Bib Gourmand recognition, two years straight, confirms what the plates already argue: this is value and craft in the same bite, not one traded for the other. National lists have noticed too. None of that is the point. The point is a pizza that tastes like it's still being made by someone who cares whether it's right.

The Spot
Antico Pizza Napoletana sits in Atlanta's Home Park neighborhood, founded by Giovanni Di Palma in a nondescript building that became a destination almost immediately. It's now the anchor of Little Italia, the cluster of Italian concepts Di Palma built around it, including Gio's Chicken Italiano and Caffè Antico.

The kitchen follows Neapolitan pizza-making tradition, with the Antico Original Pizza standing as the signature order. The room is casual and rustic, with a reputation for generous portions and a consistently packed dining room.

Antico has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in both 2024 and 2025, and it appears on the Eater 38. It's also been reviewed by The Infatuation.
