The Spot
The Majestic has occupied its spot on King Street in Old Town Alexandria since 1932, passing through different owners over the decades while staying a fixture for the neighborhood. Its current chapter belongs to chef Santiago Lopez, who took over as owner after leading kitchens at Palette 22 and Vola's Dockside Grill in Alexandria — this is his first restaurant as owner.

The menu is New American with Mediterranean undertones: housemade ricotta, saffron mussels, beef carpaccio, roasted lamb shank, lobster pot pie, and seared scallops with saffron rice all appear on the lineup. Weekend brunch runs alongside the dinner menu, with regulars pointing to the brisket omelette, overnight sourdough French toast, and a filet mignon benedict with smashed crispy fingerling potatoes — and saving room for the house coconut cake.

The Majestic operates as a neighborhood restaurant with bar seating and a dedicated afternoon bar program, Majestic Hour, plus private dining space for larger groups and events.
