Ayat DC is a casual bistro built around Palestinian cooking, named by founder Abdul Elenani for his wife Ayat, a Palestinian lawyer whose love of cooking shaped the menu. The restaurant is all halal and offers dine-in, takeout, and catering.
The menu runs from cold mezze — baba ghanoush, labneh, muhammarah, fattoush, and tabbouleh — to freshly carved shawarma and slow-cooked feast dishes like mansaf and maklouba, served alongside oven-baked breads made daily. It's also known for slow-roasted lamb, chicken over rice, wood-fired pizzas, and kebab platters.
Ayat DC is part of a small group of Palestinian restaurants with locations across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, with Washington, D.C. marking its expansion into the capital.
