The Spot
Toyoda Sushi sits on the main Lake City strip, a small Japanese restaurant built around casual, quick sushi dinners rather than spectacle. Every meal starts the same way: a complimentary noodle salad and miso soup arrive after you sit down, before the pieces of nigiri — generously portioned for the price — start coming out.

Regulars point to the chef's omakase as a reason to return, and the kitchen has built a following around one dish in particular: the tempura-fried spicy tuna roll, served with a ponzu dipping sauce, which comes out light rather than greasy despite the fry. The overall feel is a family-run neighborhood spot — warm, consistent, and considered one of the better sushi values in the area.
