Cloudburst Brewing runs out of two spots in Seattle. The original, at 2116 Western Ave, is a production facility and tasting room tucked into a loading zone of a 120-year-old building just north of the market — no kitchen, no frills, just rotating beer served close to where it's made. The Shilshole Ave location in Old Ballard is a different animal: a covered, heated, all-ages beer garden and indoor tasting room with a food truck on site and canned beer available to go.
The Western Ave room in particular has a reputation as a small, intimate space where the staff knows regulars by name — the kind of no-frills, authentic brewery experience that draws a devoted following rather than casual walk-ins.
The brewery was named a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Wine Program in 2020.
