El Chile Toreado is a food truck operation run by Luis and Berenice Medina, along with her brothers Jonathan and Lester, a family hailing from Chihuahua, Mexico. Luis brings decades of experience running a hot dog cart, while Berenice trained at Le Cordon Bleu. The food comes on paper plates, no pretension involved.
Breakfast centers on the Luis Mix burrito, packed with chorizo, bacon, and Polish sausage alongside eggs, potatoes, green chile, and cheese. Lunch brings al pastor and adobada tacos built on marinated pork, finished with a house-made green chile sauce made from jalapeños and cilantro. Hot dogs and Polish sausage are on offer for anyone after something milder.
Luis and Berenice Medina were named semifinalists for the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef Southwest award in 2023.
