Kantine is a Scandinavian-inspired eatery on Market Street serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Chef-owner Nichole Accettola spent more than a decade based in Copenhagen before opening the place, and the food reflects it: cardamom morning buns, savory porridge with mushrooms and farmers cheese, cured trout on seeded rye buns, and Swedish meatball soup all move through a menu built on seasonal, sustainable ingredients — what the kitchen calls Scandinavian from scratch.
The room is casual and neighborhood-facing, with no reservations needed. Open-faced smørrebrød sandwiches, layered with things like curried herring or smoked chicken salad, run alongside the pastry case and porridges as part of the everyday lineup.
