Dolores Deluxe has operated as a neighborhood corner store in the Mission's Dolores Heights since 1911, stocked the way corner stores are: fridges of six-packs, aisles of grocery staples, wine and beer alongside jars of specialty goods. Look closer and it's also a sandwich destination, with a menu that changes weekly and leans into unexpected filling combinations — mole rotisserie chicken, pastrami with spinach artichoke dip. A breakfast sandwich built on a melty leek omelette with spicy tomato jam shows up regularly and holds its own at any hour.
Fresh bread is baked in-house, and sandwiches and breakfast items run all day alongside lunch specials. Seating is limited to a couple of sidewalk tables, making this more of a grab-and-go stop on the way to nearby green space than a sit-down meal.
