Wilder opened in 2022 as the first restaurant from husband-and-wife team Brett Naylor and Nicole Barrick, occupying a three-story space in Center City West's Rittenhouse neighborhood. The name nods to the bold style Brett's kitchen brings to the American menu and the aesthetic sensibility Nicole, a musician and artist, brings to the room. Nicole designed the interiors herself, layering Turkish rugs, cheetah print, and brass accents against teal banquettes, and painted the murals found throughout the space. Before service, she leads the team in a ritual of burning incense and setting intentions.
