Provenance splits one French tasting menu across three vantages — a counter facing the kitchen, a named dining room, a wine cellar — and the choice of seat changes the evening more than most restaurants' entire concepts. The plating is exact to the point of drawing gasps; the service keeps pace.

A Michelin star and Bon Appétit's best-new list arrived almost immediately. Philadelphia waited a long time for a French room with this level of formal ambition. It runs like it knows that.

The Spot
Provenance sits on South 2nd Street in Society Hill, serving French cooking across three separate rooms: a Kitchen View Counter facing the kitchen directly, the Sunkoo Yuh Room, and a Wine Cellar Room with its own seating time. Each room offers a different vantage on the same night's cooking.

Regulars describe the kitchen's precision and artistic plating, paired with a level of service and hospitality that comes up repeatedly in how people talk about the place. It has become a destination diners save for occasions that matter.

Michelin awarded Provenance one star in 2025. The same year, Bon Appétit named it among its Best New Restaurants, and the James Beard Foundation named it a semifinalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Philadelphia Magazine included it among the city's best of 2025, and The Infatuation scored it 9.8 out of 10.
