Frankford Hall is Fishtown's biergarten: an expansive indoor-outdoor space filled with shared picnic tables, a courtyard, and a ping pong table, built around the communal, come-as-you-are spirit of a traditional German beer garden. Beer is the anchor of the room, served by the half-liter and liter from an extensive German and American list.
The menu runs through biergarten staples — warm Bavarian pretzels, potato pancakes, a rotating lineup of sausages (bratwurst, weisswurst, currywurst, käsekrainer) served on pretzel rolls with potato salad, chicken, pork, and veal schnitzel, rouladen, and the Kanzler, a dry-aged beef burger. Weekend brunch adds buttermilk pancakes, a sausage breakfast sandwich on a pretzel roll, and a Deutsche's Platter with potato pancakes and fried eggs. Boozy milkshakes, including a chocolate pretzel and a strawberry cake flavor, round out dessert.
The long tables and shared plates make it a natural gathering spot for groups, and the atmosphere and spaciousness of the courtyard are frequently cited by regulars as the draw.
