The Spot
Urban Grub occupies a corner of 12South that was once a carwash, now reworked into a sprawling multi-environment space combining a restaurant, bar, patio, and beer garden. Jay Pennington handled the operational side and Billy Inman the design, and the property leans into that duality with fire pits, private cabanas, and an open-air in-outdoor bar tucked around every corner.

The kitchen works Southern traditions with seafood at the center — fresh fish, shucked oysters, and smoked and grilled meats and vegetables — built as a menu for sampling and sharing that keeps evolving. Crowd feedback points to strong execution across the board, with high-quality meat and creative dishes alongside attentive, exceptional service.

StarChefs named Urban Grub to its Rising Stars class in 2022, and it's built a reputation as a busy, high-energy fixture on the 12South corner.
