The Spot
DeGidio's opened as DeGidio's Royal Bar in 1933, right as Prohibition ended, founded by Joe "Kid Bullets" DeGidio at the same West 7th Street address it still occupies. The family has kept it running since, with the third and fourth generations now behind the restaurant.

The menu holds to old-school Italian-American staples: spaghetti and meatballs on a platter built for two, chicken parmesan, lasagna with Italian sausage and ricotta, rigatoni alla vodka with burrata, tortelloni Bolognese, and the Old Fashioned Hot Dago, a sandwich locals have sworn by for decades. Sauces and dressings are made from scratch daily, and portions are sized for sharing.

Beyond the dining room, DeGidio's runs a private banquet room and bar for events accommodating 40 to 150 guests, along with a catering operation serving offices, receptions, and family gatherings around Saint Paul. It remains a fixture on West 7th, built on the same bar-and-red-sauce identity it opened with in 1933.
