Cossetta Alimentari fills a full corner of St. Paul's West Seventh with several distinct operations running under one Italian name. The ground-floor Eatery & Pizzeria seats 300 and runs cafeteria-style: order at the counter, grab a table, eat. Up on the third story, Louis Ristorante & Bar handles the sit-down side, serving pasta, secondi, and dolce.
The building also holds a Pasticceria for pastries and gelato — cannoli included — and an Italian Market stocked with imported ingredients, plus chef-prepared meals to take home. Frank's Levee Tavern rounds out the operation.
Cossetta has developed a loyal base of long-time regulars and turns up regularly on local best-of lists; it's been named to Eater's Essential 38 for the Twin Cities.
