The Spot
Urbe brings Mexican street food to Houston's Westside from chef Hugo Ortega, who also runs Caracol. The menu leans into tacos and other street-food staples, the kind of food built for eating quickly and often, alongside a brunch service that's developed a following of its own.

Service and atmosphere show up consistently in what regulars say about the place — attentive staff, a strong sense of vibe, and enough repeat visits to suggest it's become a routine stop for a lot of Houstonians rather than a once-and-done destination.

Urbe was named both a finalist and a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Restaurateur award for 2026.
