The Spot
Rainbow Lodge occupies a 100-plus-year-old log cabin along White Oak Bayou. The kitchen works in wild game — elk, bison, venison, antelope, duck, and quail — alongside steaks and seafood like beef ribeye, filet, braised short ribs, jumbo lump crab, rainbow trout, lobster, and Gulf shrimp. Two on-site kitchen gardens feed into a menu the restaurant says is shaped by seasonal harvest and local ranches and growers.

The Tied Fly Bar, a hand-carved rainbow trout stream turned into a cocktail bar, anchors the space and draws its own crowd for drinks with a view. Houstonians have been coming to The Lodge for decades, and the room leans rustic luxe: refined without being stuffy.

Venison, mixed grill, and rainbow trout are the dishes regulars point to, and the restaurant has settled into a role as a go-to for special occasions and business dinners. The Infatuation has rated it 7.7/10.
