The Spot
Gyanna Indian Restaurant & Bar sits in Downtown Dallas under Chef Praveen, who owns and runs the restaurant. It was previously known as Gymkhana, and the name draws on the tradition of India's social clubs — places built for eating, drinking, and lingering together.

The menu spans regions and traditions, mixing well-executed versions of Indian classics with unexpected additions like lobster bisque and curry leaf calamari. Curries, biryanis, and a full lineup from the tandoori oven give regulars plenty to work through over repeat visits.

Among the standbys: goat sukka, slow-roasted until tender and deeply aromatic, and a butter chicken that balances spice and cream. Basmati rice and naan round out the table, best paired with a cold Taj Mahal beer. The room is set up for lingering — regulars use it for a slow coworker lunch or a quiet solo one.
