Our Take

The pitch at Crown Block starts before the food does: a short elevator climb up Reunion Tower drops you into one of the best views in Dallas, glass on every side, the skyline doing half the work before a plate arrives. That view is the reason to book, and it delivers.

The brunch is built as an all-you-can-eat spread, and it earns the format. Fresh sushi, a smoked salmon and bagel bar, a carving station slicing ham and prime beef to order — there's enough here that the kitchen's plated entree becomes an afterthought, something you get around to after the self-serve stations have already won you over. Quantity and quality rarely coexist this comfortably at a buffet, but they do here.

This isn't food built for obsessive scrutiny over technique. It's built for occasion — bring visiting parents, bring out-of-towners, let someone else's expense account take the hit. Dallas has plenty of serious tasting menus. It has very few rooms that turn brunch into a genuine event, and Crown Block has settled into that lane with real confidence, backed by a Michelin selection that confirms what the view and the buffet already argue.

The Spot
Crown Block sits atop Reunion Tower at 300 Reunion Blvd E, built around a menu split into steakhouse, sushi, and seafood sections, with a separate dessert program and a dedicated cocktail and wine list. Sunday brunch runs on its own format, pairing ten plated entrée choices with a buffet station.

The restaurant comes from Elizabeth Blau, founder of Blau + Associates, whose past work includes the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center and restaurant portfolios at Bellagio and Wynn in Las Vegas. Chef Kim Canteenwalla, her husband and Crown Block's chef-owner, has cooked in Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Bali, Toronto, and Montreal, and served as Executive Chef of MGM Grand Las Vegas; the two also run Honey Salt and Buddy V's Ristorante together.

Crown Block was named a Selected restaurant in the Michelin Guide's 2025 Texas edition and has been covered by The Infatuation.
