Schneider Deli traces back to Schneider Provisions, a pickle-making project Jake and Ariel Schneider started in 2022. The couple met working in Chicago hospitality and share a background in Jewish food traditions; as the pickle venture expanded into deli-style cured meats and fish, it grew into a full deli concept, and Schneider Deli opened in 2023.
The River North location runs counter-service, with a menu blending traditional and modern Jewish deli cooking. The Schneiders have since expanded to a second location in Lincoln Park, along with a catering arm built on the same cured-meat and pickle foundation the business started with.
