Sunny Girl is a counter-service sandwich shop in the North End, run by chef/owner Jesse Rosen, a Culinary Institute of America alum who previously worked at Burnt Edge Pizza and Good Life. The space is small, with around half a dozen bar stools, built for quick breakfast and lunch rather than lingering.
The menu centers on sandwiches made with housemade English muffins and named-farm ingredients: Nellie's eggs, North Country Smokehouse bacon, Ducktrap smoked salmon. The OG pairs a fried egg and American cheese with sunny sauce; the Artie Party adds crispy mortadella and pistachio mascarpone; The Lox layers smoked salmon with everything mascarpone and confit fennel. A fried-egg-and-bacon breakfast sandwich comes with smashed avocado included rather than as an add-on. Lunch brings a Croque Madame, a Sunny Girl BLT, and a pre-'98 Italian sandwich stacked with salame, soppressata, mortadella, and burrata.
