The Spot
Loro comes from Tyson Cole of Uchi and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue, who built what they call an Asian smokehouse — Texas barbecue technique applied to dishes carrying Southeast Asian flavor. The South Lamar location sits along the South Lamar corridor near Barton Springs and Zilker Park, with an order-at-the-bar counter-service setup and a large patio shaded by oak trees.

Dishes drawing attention include corn fritters, chicken karaage, pork belly, snap peas, a rice bowl, burnt ends, bavette, oak-smoked salmon, and a tostada, alongside boozy slushees on tap.

A Taste of Koko named Loro to its 2025 best-of list, and The Infatuation scored the restaurant 8.2/10.
