Home Slice Pizza opened its dine-in room on South Congress in November 2005, founded by married couple Jen and Joseph Strickland with partner Terri Hannifin Buis. A takeout and slice counter, More Home Slice, followed across the parking lot in 2010, and the concept has since expanded to North Loop in Austin and to Houston's Midtown neighborhood.
The menu is built on New York-style pizza: a crisp, stone-baked crust and slices large enough to fold, topped with combinations drawn from classic Italian-American kitchens rather than novelty toppings. Pepperoni and sausage pies are regulars on the menu, alongside garlic knots and salads.
Home Slice has been named to the Eater 38, carries an 8.1/10 rating from The Infatuation, and was included on A Taste of Koko's 2025 best-of Austin list. The crust and pie quality draw consistent praise from regulars, even as service experiences are reported to vary.
