Tiny Lou's takes its name from a dancer who performed in the Clermont Motor Hotel's Gypsy Room back in the 1950s, and it occupies the ground floor of that same building — now Hotel Clermont — in Poncey-Highland. The restaurant describes itself as a French-American brasserie, working seasonal and local ingredients into French favorites, with a wine list weighted toward France.
Regulars point to the service as much as the food, and the room has built a reputation as a place for special occasions. Brunch runs its own service on weekends and has developed a following, and the cocktail program gets mentioned in the same breath as the cooking.
Michelin selected Tiny Lou's for its guide in 2024. The restaurant's pastry program was also named a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Pastry Chef award in 2020.
