Nazret is a casual, shared-table Ethiopian restaurant built around communal eating: dishes are meant to be set at the center and pulled apart by hand. The kitchen leans on slow-cooked sauces and traditional preparations, including a raw beef chef's special seasoned with berbere, onions, garlic, and hot Ethiopian spices, alongside the Nazret special, a wide sampling of traditional dishes assembled for the table.
The restaurant also runs a full Ethiopian coffee ceremony, offering the ritual roasting-and-brewing experience as part of a sit-down meal, and takes on catering and event bookings beyond the dining room.
Washingtonian has included Nazret in its restaurant coverage.
