Alfie's began in 2016 as a Thai pop-up serving sausage, laabs, and curries built on intense heat and herbal flavors — a run that lasted only about six months before it closed. It has since returned as a permanent restaurant in a Georgetown alley, with chefs Alex McCoy and Justin Ahn running an open kitchen that's little more than a single corridor, food-truck style, often with the two of them visibly working the line.
The space channels Southeast Asia through breeze block walls, patio tile floors, and a vintage Thai sign shaped like a leaping lion. The kitchen focuses on Northern Thai cooking, with khao soi as the signature dish alongside herb-loaded sai au sausage known for its chili heat, and regional plates like a minty seafood curry loaded with catfish, clams, and mussels.
