The Spot
The building at 315 Main Street in Dunedin has held several lives since 1905, starting as a barbershop and later serving as the town's mayor's office before becoming a restaurant in 1946. The Black Pearl took over the space in 1996, establishing French fine dining in Pinellas County that has continued for nearly three decades.

The dining room holds just 12 tables. Chef Christopher Artrip runs the kitchen as executive chef, working alongside Sous Chef Ian Gow within that small, formal footprint.

Creative Loafing Tampa's 2025 readers poll included The Black Pearl among the city's recognized spots. Regulars point to the room's romantic atmosphere as a draw for date nights and special occasions.
