Malio's Prime Steakhouse dates to 1969, when Malio Iavarone opened the restaurant in downtown Tampa, continuing a family tradition his immigrant parents had started in 1945. The restaurant sits at 400 N. Ashley Drive, with dining space that extends toward the water.
The menu runs through steakhouse staples alongside seafood: filet, jumbo sea scallops, lobster tail, and oysters on the half shell, plus Malio's original filet sandwich. Escargot, mussels, and a salmon chopped salad round out the starters and salads, with sides like jalapeno cream corn and desserts including flourless chocolate cake and creme brulee.
The room carries a classic, upscale steakhouse feel, and the restaurant also handles catering and private parties for events beyond its regular dining service.
